Ngannou stars as gladiator in new Netflix film, Rebel Moon.

Renowned Cameroonian Mixed Martial Arts, MMA, fighter, Francis Ngannou, has wowed his fans with his acting skills.

The heavyweight fighter recently featured in his second movie role in the just released Netflix movie, Rebel Moon, Part Two.



The film is directed by Zack Synder. In the Netflix hit, the formidable athlete played a gladiator, who oozed an intimidating aura just as fearsome as the man portraying him.

In his cameo role, the giant can be seen shadowboxing, before speaking with a group of people, who were asking for ‘The General’.

With ice in his veins, a shredded Ngannou turns to the characters and says: “The General is not here. He doesn’t fight anymore”.

He later explains that the man they are searching for has not been defeated in the coliseums and the only war he has is with himself, before adding that they will find him by the Southern Gate.

According to fans, the sportsman is quite gifted in the acting department, compared to some of his peers. 

Since the release of Rebel Moon, a plethora of fans have been singing his praises across social media.

On X, formerly Twitter, a fan wrote: “He’s actually pretty good at this”.

Another fan exclaimed: “Whoever casted him did their job”.

It is worth recalling that Ngannou’s acting debut was in the Fast and Furious franchise where he played the cameo role of a mercenary fighter.

Although the former Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC, heavyweight King has expressed desire for more acting roles and a future in show business, he said for now he’s focused on building a legacy in MMA.

He is currently preparing for his comeback in MMA after a brief sojourn in boxing. 

Ngannou is set to face Brazil’s Renan Ferreira in a highly anticipated Professional Fighters League, PFL, bout slated for October 19, in Saudi Arabia.
