Africa Global Logistics: Cameroonian, Dieudonne Gaibai, named Cote d'Ivoire Deputy MD.

Dieudonne Gaibai: AGL Deputy Managing Director

Cameroonian, Dieudonne Gaibai, has been appointed as the Deputy Managing Director, MD, of Africa Global Logistics, AGL, in Cote d'Ivoire. The former journalist and communication director was appointed to the position recently.

Commenting on the new position, Dieudonné Gaïbaï took to his social media handle where he expressed excitement and readiness for the new task ahead. “This appointment opens the door to a new chapter, new challenges, and an ever-renewed determination to meet the challenges facing Africa, our continent,” Gaïbaï wrote.

With his extensive experience in communications, sustainable development and organisational management, Gaïbaï will be tasked with reversing the trend.

“My aim is to strengthen the company's visibility, brand awareness, and reputation while highlighting its commitments to inclusion, innovation, and social responsibility,” Gaïbaï stated.

According to the Board of Directors, Gaïbaï appointment places him at the forefront of AGL Cote d'Ivoire, a key subsidiary of the logistics giant operating across various sectors, including shipping, warehousing, and supply chain management.

According to the release announcing his appointment, Gaïbaï’s goal will be to reinvigorate the company’s strategy by strengthening its visibility, brand awareness, and commitment to corporate social responsibility.

The task ahead for Gaïbaï, analysts say, will be anything but simple as Cote d'Ivoire's logistics sector is crucial to the country's economic stability, and AGL plays a central role in facilitating trade, transportation, and supply chains.

As the company grapples with the impact of reduced agricultural production and the lingering effects of global supply chain disruptions, he is expected to steer AGL Cote d'Ivoire toward recovery.

His immediate challenge, sources say, will be to implement a new managerial dynamic within the company, focusing on operational efficiency, customer service, and corporate responsibility.

Gaïbaï's appointment as Deputy Managing Director follows a long and varied career in journalism and corporate communication.

Before joining AGL in March 2023, he had already carved out a name for himself in the country’s media landscape.

He had worked for the private newspaper company, Mutations, during which he built a solid reputation as a communicator, strategist, and leader with a track record of success in corporate roles and public relations.

In 2022, Gaïbaï's had an Executive MBA in Strategic Management from IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School.
