Gazelle FA overtakes Colombe FC on top of Elite One.

North Region football club, Gazelle FA of Garoua have overtaken Colombe FC of the Dja and Lobo to become the new leaders of the MTN Elite One championship. 

They claimed the top seat after a deserved 2-0 win at Stade Renard of Melong.



This was during an advanced match day eight fixture which took place Wednesday at the Melong Municipal Stadium in the West Region.

Two goals in both halves of the game helped Gazelle FA to secure maximum points. Marius Kalgon Kada opened the scoring on 17 minutes before Mael Fernandez rounded off the scoring 10 minutes to stoppage time. 

The win helped Gazelle FA to top the league with a game in hand. They have secured 17 points from eight matches and are tied on points with Colombe Sportive who have dropped to second. 

Thanks to the emphatic victory, Gazelle FA maintained their perfect away record at the start of the season which makes them one of the title aspirants this season. They have collected 12 points from 12 available. They are now unbeaten in their last five games with four wins and a draw. 

 

Nchindo inspires Coton Sport to away victory 

Elsewhere, Cameroon international, Nchindo John Bosco opened his goal account with Coton Sport of Garoua. The multi-talented player scored a brace to inspire Coton Sport of Garoua to a 2-0 win against Union Sportive of Douala. The game took place yesterday at the Bepanda Annex Stadium. 

The win ended Coton Sport's two match winless run. The win against Union of Douala was only their second win in six games. The record Elite One champions have now catapulted themselves to fourth position on the log.
