Ahead of Youth Day celebration: Youth council president announces youth camp, dialogue to promote unity.

Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou: Cameroon National Youth Council President

The National President of the Cameroon National Youth Council, CNYC, Fadimatou Iyawa Ousmanou, has called on young people in the country to actively participate in the activities planned for the 59th National Youth Day celebration in order to promote peace and unity. 

The call was made on January 20.



This was during a press briefing organised in Yaounde. The youth leader had used the presser to present activities planned for the 2025 Youth Day celebration.

The activities include Cameroon Youth Dialogue platform and a National Youth Camp scheduled to take place from February 5 to 8.

During the camp, over 1,000 young Cameroonians will gather to discuss issues that concerns them as well as share ideas.

Speaking during the press briefing, Fadimatou Iyawa underlined the importance of the events for the youth. She invited all young people to actively participate in the planned activities.

“This ground breaking initiatives will address pressing issues such as unemployment, gender equality, educational gaps, health care deficiencies and the digital device,” she stated.

She also added that in order to get the youth actively involved and be able to get their worries and contributions to growth, a dialogue will be held from January 28-30.

The initiative, it was said, is known as Cameroon Dialogue Platform championed by the CNYC. With the intention being to promote unity, peace and development, Fadimatou Iyawa disclosed that the Cameroon Dialogue platform and the youth camp seek to get young people not only active in issues of national development but contribute towards a sustainable future for Cameroonians.
