Ndu MP, Hon Naomi Mbongyor, honoured for outstanding community service.

Hon Mbongyor receiving recognition

The Member of Parliament, MP, for Donga Mantung II Constituency, Ndu, Hon Hon Mbongnyor Naomi Ngando, has been distinguished for her outstanding community service to her people and humanity.

Hon Mbongnyor was decorated over the weekend by the MBA-NDA cultural group in Bafoussam in the West Region.

This was during a cultural ceremony during which many took turns to hail the MP for her consistency in working for her people in a way so unique.

She was handed a prestigious recognition for what the group insisted is her unbeatable commitment to community development. They cited what they said are her tireless efforts to lobbying for development projects in her constituency.

Among the projects, the MBA-NDA group mentioned a water project, construction of classrooms and the construction of Mbah Integrated Healthcare Centre among others.

The recognition, the group added, is a testament to her dedication to improving the lives of the population, especially the vulnerable. In this light, they cited her never-seen commitment to essential services, especially education and healthcare.

Others said as Member of Parliament, she has demonstrated a never-seen selflessness and commendable commitment in regularly working to address the concerns of the population.

Reacting to the recognition, Hon Naomi Mbongnyor said it is a motivation for her to continue doing more to boost community development and the living conditions of her people.

To note that since being voted into Parliament, Hon Mbongnyor has been a grassroots mobiliser and community developer.

She has initiated several peace and effective schooling campaigns, offering scholarships to vulnerable kids in the process.

The award-winning MP has also been very effective in providing farm inputs to communities to guarantee food sufficiency.

Hon Mbongnyor has remained a veritable hunting dog of the people of Ndu, meeting the right persons and knocking the right offices to ensure her people benefit from several projects which the government has unveiled in recent times.

In times of social challenges such as fire and other accidents, Hon Mbongnyor has always been at the disposal of the population to help. She was one of the elite who offered multiform support to victims of the February 11, 2024, bomb explosion at the Nkambe Grandstand.

The MP has also embarked on several moves to put smiles on the faces of widows, and women in general. With her strong conviction that women are at the heart of every family and that the family is the nucleus of the community, the MP believes empowering women is indirectly empowering the community.

Her support to the population has been in the form of improved maize seeds, fertiliser and farm tools.

At the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the MP came to the rescue of her population with the donation of anti-COVID-19 preventive kits to churches and mosque in Ndu Subdivision.

In the domain of culture, she has assisted in bfubfu celebration in Njimnkang, Njilah, Ngulu, Fuh and Nkambe over the years.

The MP has donated cement to the Njila and Mangu communities to help in the community water project and construction of women's hall in Njilah village and Mangu respectively.

In 2021, she laid the foundation stone for MBAH-NDA hall in Yaounde and assisted Mbongong Baptist Church with a bundle of zinc and visited the construction site of the theater of Ndu Health Centre.

The MP has also been playing a key role in dialoguing with aggrieved youth of the Ndu Subdivision within the context of the conflict in the North West and South West Regions.
