MTN Elite Two: ISOHSA overtakes Bafmeng United FC to go top.

Isles of Hope Sports Academy, ISOHSA, have moved to the top of Group A in the MTN Elite Two championship for the first time this season. 

The South West Region football club secured the top spot after they hold on to defeat Aigle Royal of the Menoua 2-1. 



This was during matchday eight of the second-tier league which took place on Sunday January 2 at the Tiko Town Green Stadium. 

It was an actioned packed game in Tiko as ISOHSA was looking forward to returning to winning ways after two consecutive defeats to Union Sportive of Abong-Mbang, USA, and AS FAP of Yaounde. 

The game was only 12 minutes old when Alfred Mbita put ISOHSA on course for a win but Steve Noundem equalised for Aigle Royal barely four minutes later. 

The visitors thought they had earned a hard-fought draw in Tiko when Eba Emile stepped up to score late winner on 90+2 minute to send fans wild with excitement. 

The win helped ISOHSA to end their two-match losing run and dethrone Bafmeng United at the top of the Elite Two championship. 

Coach Mbock Maput and his boys are top with 13 points, one-point clear o runners-up Bafmeng United.

Bafmeng United slipped to the second spot after a 2-2 stalemate against USA. 

The action-packed game was played at the University of Bamenda playground in Bambili on Saturday February 1. 

The North West Region football club came from behind twice to secure a draw.

In the other results, Tonnerre Kalara Club, TKC, were 1-0 winners at Djiko. 

The slim win means they are now third on the classification table. Eding Sport also picked up a narrow 1-0 win at Fovu Club of Baham.
