Held annually in Buea, the Race of Hope is one of Africa’s most demanding endurance races, attracting elite athletes and local champions who push their limits to conquer Mount Cameroon’s 4,095-meter (13,435-foot) volcanic peak. This year’s race will take place from February 17 to 22, 2025, celebrating three decades of resilience, athleticism, and perseverance.

As part of the race preparations, a test race was successfully held on January 18, 2025, serving as a qualifying event for aspiring participants. Athletes tackled the grueling ascent from Molyko Stadium to the Intermediary Hut and back, testing their endurance in anticipation of the final challenge in February.

With the test race concluded, the countdown to the Race of Hope 30 is in full swing, as competitors fine-tune their training to take on one of Africa’s most legendary endurance events.
