Regional elections: Ngoketunjia CPDM elite call for massive participation.

Municipal councillors of all three councils in Ngoketunjia Division of the North West Region, have been urged to all take part in the in the November 30 Regional Elections, in order to give the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, 100% victory.

The call was made on Saturday, November 15, 2025. This was during the Divisional campaign launch, in the presence of the campaign head, Prof Uphie Chinje, Minister Prof Ghogomu Paul, and Hon Njingum Musa.

Speaking during the event, Prof Uphie Chinje called on councillors and potential voters from Ndop, Balikumbat and Babessi Councils, to brave the odds and give the party a 100% win in the elections.

Though the CPDM party does not have an opposition in the Regional Elections in Ngoketunjia, elite, however, told the councillors that having a 100% win will reflect the Division’s support for the party and Head of State, President Paul Biya.

“The importance of this election is on decentralisation. We are not doubting about a win, but we just want to be sure that every councillor has accepted to be part of the decentralisation process. We are taking every measure to ensure that they will be present and cast their votes,” Prof Uphie said.

She reminded Councillors that Ngoketunjia Division came first in the presidential election, and that they must work hard to keep the flag up.

On their part, Prof Ghogomu Paul and Hon Njingum Musa, Member of Parliament for Ngoketunjia North Constituency dished out similar message to the Councillors.

 

Regional aspirants urged to collaborate 

The launching ceremony was also an opportunity to present all seven aspirants vying for seats at the North West Regional Assembly. They were invited to work hand-in-hand with the Councillors before, during and after the election.

The aspirants include: Ngangjoh Mama Lamya, Ndam Eremina, Lecigah Pius Tanteh, Adamu Yusufu Mahamat, Nkimih Peter Agoh, Nchechuma Pius Banla, and Ngwa Epse Ngwana Rosemary.

“Let’s say the first mandate was a trial period. Now is the time to do great achievements for the people of Ngoketunjia. You are should collaborate with the mayors to bring projects to Ngoketunjia,” Prof Ghogomu told the aspirants.

On his part, Hon Njingum Musa enjoined the Mayors of all three councils to mobilise their Councillors ahead of the November 30 election. He also called on all those concerned to ensure their safety, as they prepare for the task ahead.

“I want 100% victory in Ngoketunjia. Ensure your personal security as you move around. Also remove fear in you…,” Hon Njingum cautioned.

The event ended with all the aspirants sharing their manifestos, as they promised to work as a team to ensure effective representation and development in Ngoketunjia.
