At New Year wishes ceremony: PM renews performance bond with staff, associated structures.

Performance-driven Minister, Director of Cabinet at PM's Office, Balungeli Confiance Ebune, extending New Year wishes to PM Dion Ngute yesterday

Staff of the Star Building and those of some 15 structures attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, have extended best wishes for 2026 to the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Dr Chief Jospeh Dion Ngute.

This was during a colourful ceremony at the esplanade of the Prime Minister’s Office in Yaounde yesterday.



Activities commenced with the presentation of a posy of flours to Prime Minister Dion Ngute by staff. 

The symbolic gesture then paved the way for the PM’s collaborators and heads of other institutions to file past before Dion Ngute to present their wishes for the year just starting.

Officials of the Star Building said the significance of yesterday’s event was to mobilise and unite to better serve the public throughout 2026.

The Minister, Secretary General at the Prime Minister’s Office, Prof Seraphine Magloire Fouda, was the first person to wish the Prime Minister, happy New Year. 

Next was the Minister, Deputy Secretary General at the Prime Minister’s Office, Prof Pascal Nguihe Kante. 

This was followed by wishes from the staff of the General Secretariat of the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Minister, Director of Cabinet of the Prime Minister’s Office, Balungeli Ebune Confiance, then led staff of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet for the same declaration of ‘Happy New Year Mr Prime Minister’.

Heads and staff of structures placed under the control of the Prime Minister’s Office were next in line. 

These are; the National Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Committee, NDDRC. The National Coordinator of the DDRC, Fai Yengo Francis, was head of the delegation that wished the Prime Minister well.

It was the same for Joseph Chebongkeng Kalabubse, who did so for the National Communication Council, NCC. 

Other structures whose officials and staff answered present were; the National Road Board, the Regulatory and Competitiveness Board, the Cameroon Human Rights Commission, CHRC, the National Decentralisation Board, the National Board for the Approval of School Text Books and Teaching Materials.

Other structures whose officials and staff also wished the Prime Minister well for the new year at yesterday's event were; Coordinators and staff of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions; PPRD-NW/SW; the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the Far North Region, PPRDFR.

Staff of the security, Special Report Brigade and the Protocol service were among the last to also present their wishes for 2026 to the Star Building occupant.

The Prime Minister later had banquet with all the staff and officials who answered present at the ceremony. 

The Prime Minister had before yesterday led members of government to extend best wishes to the Head of  State, Paul Biya on Thursday January 8, 2025, at the Unity Palace.
