FECAFOOT unveils Ballon d’Or nominees.

The Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, has published the list of nominees for the 2025 Cameroon Ballon d’Or awards scheduled for Friday February 27. The federation unveiled the nominees on Tuesday night.



Eleven players are shortlisted for the men’s player of the year gong. The list is headlined by forward Adrien Boris Mfoumou who scored over 12 goals for AS Fortuna last season and the season’s top scorer Serge Daura who powered in 15 goals for Gazelle Football Club of Garoua.

Other nominees in the category include Bayene Etienne Steeve Lima of Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda, forward Blaise Fuh Ndiforchu of PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda, Colombe goalkeeper, Idrissou Nfor Finia, defender Hamza Hamidou of Colombe and Victoria United’s Tetego Ebene Rayan. 

Eleven players have also been nominated for the women’s player of the year distinction. The most prominent name on the list is forward Tiwa Lys Fraiche who emerged top scorer of the Guinness Super League last season after scoring 22 goals for Lekie Football Filles.

FC Ebolowa’s Magoumkoua Kouesso, Lekie Filles goalkeeper Marthe Yolande Omgmahan and goalkeeper Calixte Chantal Ngah of FAP also made the cut.

Top on the six-man men’s goalkeeper of the year nominees is fronted Gabrielle Nzong who helped Panthere of Nde to a second-place finish in the 2024/2025 Elite One championship campaign and Colombe’s Idrissou Nfor Finia who won the league with Colombe.

The three final spot in the category is occupied by Gazelle’s Ousseini Ousmanou, Sombang Edouard of PWD and Vladimir Laroche of Stade Renard.

FAP’s Calixte Chantal Nga leads the list in the women’s category where she is up against Louves MINPROFF’s goalkeeper Chelsea Ngole, Chris Vanessa Signe of FC Ebolowa, Ita Mbong Football Club of Nkambe’s Glory Asonyu Shey and Marthe Yolande Omgmahan of Lekie Filles.

Four players are named in the revelation of the year category for men. The list is led by Bayebane Etienne Steeve of Yong Sports Academy who will be facing tough competition from Gazelle pair of Mael Fernandez Monyebe and Serge Daura, and Victoria United’s Tetego Ebene Rayan.

The nominees for the revelation of the year in the women’s series are Vision Foot’s Berla Karen Dule and her teammates Crystal Noella Aghogue and Mendy Kendal Dabriz Ngo Belia. 

The lineup is completed by Gertrude Merveille Bikie of FC Ebolowa and Lekie Filles’ Mylene Yolande Zoua.

 

Enter coaches

Five coaches are named for the coach of the year distinction. Top on the list is Lions trainer David Pagou who is being honored for the works that he did for PWD last season. 

The trainer will be challenging Gazelle’s famed trainer Joel Alioum Kada, Koung Anicet Stephane of AS Fortuna and favorites; Richard Towa of Colombe and Yves Clement Arroga of Panthere.

The women’s coach of the year nominees are Indomitable Lionesses assistant trainer Mike Ndomou who is on the list for her works with Guinness Super League team Amazone FAP.

She is facing competition from Koloko Francis of Éclair Football Filles, Ronard Shey of Ita Mbong and lead contenders; Kpoumie Oudou of FC Ebolowa and Lekie Football Filles’ Stephane Ndzana.

Serge Daura and Tiwa Lys are set to claim the top scorer award across the men and women’s categories after scoring 15 and 22 goals in the Elite One and the Guinness Super League respectively last season.
