Merdolf Sarl PDG partners MINREX to award outstanding broadcasters, animators.

The President Director General, PDG of Merdolf Sarl, Ntum-Kwifon Che Linidolf, has partnered the Ministry of External Relations, MINREX, to honour outstanding broadcast journalists and animators.

According to a release which the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, issued on February 20, 2026, the recognitions will be through the Peter Essoka Journalism Excellence Prize.

Minister Mbayu stated that Merdolf Sarl, through its PDG, Ntum-Nkwifon Linidolf, is a company committed to “supporting journalism and media development”.

He stated that the award will be part of commemorative activities scheduled for this year’s Commonwealth Day.

It will be observed on Monday, March 9, 2026, under the theme: “Unlocking opportunities together for a prosperous Commonwealth”.

While stating that the award will become an annual event, Minister Mbayu indicated that the prize has been instituted to “honour and celebrate the dedication, integrity, and service of professional journalists who demonstrate excellence in their craft”.

Four awardees, the minister’s statement indicated, will be honoured each year comprising the best male and female newscasters and the best male and female animators.

Beyond delivery and commitment to “informing the public,” Minister Mbayu’s note indicated that the jury will also be looking at diction and articulation. The four winners will bag home 500,000 FCFA each, the statement disclosed.

According to Minister Mbayu, “in an era where trustworthy journalism is more essential than ever, the Peter Essoka Prize seeks to spotlight broadcasters who uphold the highest standards of the profession and contribute meaningfully to public discourse”.

He also called for massive public participation in the exercise leading to the selection of winners.

He detailed that winners will be arrived at after nominations through phone-ins and texts during the “annual Commonwealth Radio Quiz on Luncheon Date and the Mid-Morning Show” on the Cameroon Radio Television, CRTV.

The exercise, the release announcing the prize indicated, will span March 2 to 9, 2026, while veteran journalist, Peter Essoka, after whom the prize it is named, will chair the jury to select winners.

Ntum-kwifon Che Linidolf & commitment empowerment

Ntum-Nkwifon Che Linidof, it should be said, is not into his first social venture or empowerment initiative. Beyond his commitment to supporting the media, the entrepreneur has a reputation, built over the years in reaching out to the underprivileged and promoting education among others.

He has been the backbone of several social ventures across the country, especially in his native Santa and the North West Region in general.

Ntum-Nkwifon Che Linidolf has grown into a major development stakeholder, powering cooperatives and undertakings that have touched thousands of lives.

Politically, Ntum-Nkwifon Che Linidolf is a national stakeholder and a diehard supporter of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, and the ideals of the Head of State, Paul Biya.

In the last 24 years and still counting, Ntum-kwifon Che Linidolf has stood the test of time in supporting the CPDM and the Head of State faithfully.

In the 2025 presidential election, the Merdolf Sarl PDG was one of the major financiers of grassroots campaigns. He also served as a member of the national logistics commission of the CPDM national campaign team in last year’s presidential poll.

Observers have lauded his partnership with the Ministry of External Relations, in the interest of journalism as a testament to his all-round contribution to national development.
