SMEs invited to take part in Indian trade fair slated April.

Achille Bassilekin III: SMEs minister

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, SMEs, in the country have been invited for two international buying and selling events in India scheduled for April and May 2026.

The invitation is contained in a press release issued by the Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts.

According to the document signed by Minister Achille Bassilekin III, the events will be held from April 26 to 28, in Mumbai and from May 1 to 3, 2026 in Visakhapatnam.

The trade events are being organised by the India SME Forum under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance, RAMP, programme of India’s Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

The initiative targets SME professional groups and corporations seeking to expand business opportunities and establish partnerships in India.

According to the ministry, interested promoters are required to register on the India SME Forum platform as buyers before contacting the High Commission of India in Cameroon for further arrangements.

Contact details, including an official email address and telephone number, have been provided to facilitate coordination.

The India SME Forum is described as the country’s largest not-for-profit organisation representing small and medium enterprises.

Established in 2011, it brings together more than 600,000 entrepreneurs, contributors and stakeholders across India.

The organisation focuses on supporting SMEs through networking, advocacy, and access to investment and partnership opportunities.

The planned events will feature business-to-business meetings, exhibitions and networking sessions aimed at connecting enterprises with potential buyers, investors and collaborators.

The programme is designed to promote globally competitive SMEs and support their growth through access to new markets.

Cameroon’s participation comes as trade relations between the two countries continue. According to India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, bilateral trade between Cameroon and India stood at about $1.2 billion in 2022-2023.

Cameroon’s exports include crude oil, timber and agricultural products, while India exports pharmaceuticals, machinery, textiles and rice.

The ministry stated that the initiative is open to SME professional groups and corporations interested in taking part in the events.

The sessions in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam are expected to provide opportunities for Cameroonian enterprises to showcase products, engage with partners and explore commercial linkages.
