Coach Ngwa Remy leaves Dream Team FC Bamenda.

Coach Ngwa Remy

Decorated trainer, Ngwa Remy, has resigned as head coach of North West Regional Football League club, Dream Team of Bamenda.

The trainer stepped down shortly after the club lost to Mankon United Football Club in the final of the 2026 North West Regional League over the weekend.

Mankon United came from behind to beat the outfit 2-1 in the match, resultantly qualifying for the forthcoming 2026 series of the Elite Two championship ticket-deciding National Interpools tournament.

In his resignation letter, he said the decision was taken after deep consideration guided by personal reasons. He did not reveal the reasons.

The club in a statement confirming the exit of the trainer, expressed gratitude to the tactician for his contribution to its progress.

“A huge thank you to our coaching staff for their incredible leadership and dedication this season. While the result in the regional league final against Mankon United didn’t go our way, we are incredibly proud of how far you brought the Dream Team FC squad,” the club said.

The club added that: “Your hard work behind the scenes has been the backbone of this journey. Thank you for your commitment to the team, the players, and the game. We keep our heads high and look forward to what’s next”.

Ngwa Remy joined the club in March this year ahead of the start of the 2026 season. Before the loss in the final, the tactician registered an impressive ride with Dream Team which entered the campaign as defending champion following its league crown last year before a poor showing in the 2025 National Interpools in Yaounde.

He completed the group stage undefeated after winning 11 and drawing one of the 12 matches that he disputed in the pool phase. The trainer has earned a reputation over the last decade as one of the finest and most successful trainers in club football in Cameroon especially in the North West Region.

The tactician led Rainbow of Bamenda to the 2018 National Interpools after helping the club to the 2018 North West Regional League crown. He returned to the Elite Two qualification tournament again in 2022 with Hilltop Strikers of Bamendakwe after winning that years North West Regional League campaign with the selection.
