The Member of Parliament, MP, for Kupe Muanenguba II, Hon Dr Fonge Julius Fongouck, has offered a huge consignment of didactics to learners across Nguti Subdivision, Kupe Muanenguba Division of the South West Region.
The donation was made on Wednesday, July 22.

This was during a ceremony, on the sidelines of the launching of the 2nd edition of the Paul Biya's Peace, Unity and Solidarity tournament.

The event was attended by the Divisional Officer, DO, of Nguti Subdivision, Boog Jean Calvin, the Mayor of Nguti Council, Tong George Enoh, a representative of the General Manager of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilisation Fund, CSPH, Atuba Kevin; the CPDM Section President of Kupe Muaneguba II Section, Ajang Everistus, the President of Elati- Bebum, Esapa Patrick Enyong, among other stakeholders.

The consignment consisted 7,500 exercises books, rulers, pens, erasers and others. The MP said the offer was destined for children across the subdivision for the 2026/2027 school year.

During the same event, he donated 20 benches and financial assistance to the Nguti Development Association, Elati- Bebum to support back- to- school efforts.

Addressing the population, the MP thanked Okie Johnson Ndoh for multiple activities he also pioneers to unite the population of Nguti.

Hon Fonge lauded the various clans of the Subdivision for their commitment and efforts in boosting effective schooling.

The lawmaker challenged parents to send their children to school, noting that the support is to address issues of inadequate finances often raised by some parents.

Reminding the people on education as one of the best ways to guarantee sustainable development, Hon Fonge said no child in Nguti will be left behind in his school resumption crusade.

Fonge said the package he offered will serve children in 50 primary schools and 18 secondary establishments within Nguti Subdivision.

He expressed the wish to see children from across the Subdivision thriving in future across different fields such as; medicine, engineering, teaching, and law among others.

Since his election as member of the National Assembly in 2020, Hon Fonge has maintained a constant presence on the ground. His regular contact with the population has earned him the nickname “the people’s MP”.

Several social facilities such as health centres, schools, and lighting have been improved across dozens of villages in Nguti thanks to his efforts.
