The Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation, CAMWATER, and the National Civil Engineering Laboratory known by its French acronym LABOGENIE, have signed a technical convention to boost  potable water  supply .

The deal was signed on Friday August 16 during a ceremony in Yaounde. The Director General of CAMWATER, Blaise Moussa, and the Director General of LABOGENIE, Jean Moufo, signed for their respective companies.

Officials said through the technical convention, LABOGENIE will provide technical assistance to CAMWATER in the form of geotechnics, studies, and oversight in the rehabilitation, maintenance, and construction of potable water infrastructure.

Officials of CAMWATER said LABOGÉNIE will put at the disposal of CAMWATER its experience and expertise to ensure its projects meet required standards and quality.

The convention, experts said at the signing ceremony, will ensure that even tender documents undergo rigorous review and quality control, both initially and upon completion of projects.

The Directors General of both companies used the occasion to pledge to work to ensure the success of the technical convention in the interest of Cameroonians.

One of the areas where the convention is expected to produce fast results is the project for the supply of potable water to the city of Yaounde and its environs mostly known by its French acronym as PAEPYS.

According to the communication unit of CAMWATER, the deal is part of the company’s drive to boost the quality and sustainability of its infrastructure.
