Peace, living together…

Speaking after the Sunday’s final, Chief Elive Esimboe stated that this year’s sports tournament was meant to promote peace and living together.

He said the competition was also intended to ignite into the youth, a mindset of socially responsible behaviors.

“This tournament was an avenue for us to teach these youths the values of morale education. We encouraged them to stay away from harmful drugs and preached for an effective back to school campaign,” he said.

Chief Elive noted that: “We are not playing for money neither are we playing to win. We can only be true winners if we engaged in activities that develop our locality just like Mr. Eselem Edwin is doing. Peace is what we want, unity is our strength”.

Former alternate member of the Senate, Juliet Becke Vefonge used the occasion to call on youth not to only show their strength in sports but for them to exercise with vigor and morality their civic responsibility.

“I will like to add my voice to that of other persons who have been preaching for an active participation in the coming Presidential election. It is important that all these thousands of youths gathered here today go and cast their votes during the October 12 presidential election to decide the future of our country,” she stated.

This year’s sports tournament brought together eleven teams among including Mami Dinga FC, Ewongo FC, Ngokes FC, Ndobe Hill FC, Progressive FC, Fearless FC, Side Up FC, Quarry FC, Menka FC, Nkom FC and Bojongo FC.

Sponsors of the tournament include Biaka University Institute Buea, Orange Cameroun amongst others.
