GreenSprings official & UBa Vice Chancellor brandishing signed MoU

One of Cameroon's fastest-growing private higher institute of learning, GreenSprings Digital University Institute, GSDU, located at the Awae neigbourhood in Yaounde, has sealed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the University of Bamenda, UBa.

The landmark MoU, aimed at fostering the strides of GSDU in the training of quality professionals through digital education, was signed recently on the campus of UBa. 

Cheka Norris Keba put pen on paper for the deal on behalf of GreenSprings Digital University Institute while the Vice Chancellor of UBa, Prof Akenji Theresia, signed on behalf of the State university. 

GSDU officials said the move aligns with the institution’s drive to train the best of contemporary professionals. 

Speaking after the singing, Prof Akenji Theresia expressed the readiness of the Vice Chancellor of University of Bamenda to accompany and help GreenSpring Digital University Institute to meet up with national and international standards.

Prof Akenji said the University of Bamenda has the necessary logistics to properly follow up the academic and technical content of the academic parkour of GreenSpring Digital University Institute. 

Officials of GreenSprings Digital University Institute said the MoU is a major milestone for the institution’s resolve in advancing quality higher education. 

The deal with UBa, they said, is a booster to the academic and professional strides of GreenSprings Digital University Institute. 

This, they noted, is as University of Bamenda, being a State-recognized institution, will extend its credibility and legitimacy to GreenSprings.

They further noted that the MoU establishes a shared commitment to develop programmes, research and faculty/student exchanges in key fields like Artificial Intelligence, AI, robotics and digital transformation.

He added that the MoU positions GreenSprings Digital University Institute as a regional and continental partner and not just a private institute, by aligning with a well-established State university.

 

 

Benefits of MoU to GreenSprings 

With the MoU, officials said GSDU programmes can be jointly certified or co-badged. They said it will also improve credibility for students and attract international recognition. 

The partnership, it was also said, will help fast-track accreditation processes through the Ministry of Higher Education, MINESUP. 

Thanks to the MoU, GreenSprings, it was stated, gain access to University of Bamenda’s faculty expertise, laboratories and research facilities. 

GreenSprings, it was said, will also through the MoU, have the opportunity to host joint conferences, workshops, and symposiums that highlight both institutions.

GSDU students, it was added, will thanks to the MoU, benefit from credit transfers, exchange programmes, and access to wider academic network. The MoU, officials also noted, opens broader opportunities for post-graduate progression for Master’s and PhD programmes

The deal, it was said, also means GSDU and UBa can jointly apply for grants and research funding at national and international levels with institutions such as African Union, AU; African Development Bank, AfDB, World Bank, and the European Union, EU.

With the MoU, both institutions, it was said, can also establish joint research centres, especially in areas where GSDU wants to lead AI, robotics, agriculture-tech, and digital transformation.

The link with UBa, officials said, also enhances GSDU’s brand image and trust among parents, students, and international partners. 

They said it also creates opportunities for international partnerships, as global universities often prefer working with recognized local institutions.

By working with the University of Bamenda, GSDU, officials added, gains influence in national education and innovation policy discussions, positioning itself as a pioneer in digital higher education in Cameroon and beyond. 

 

 

Uniqueness of GreendSprings Digital University 

The institution was founded in 2024 with goal to close the digital divide in Africa with focus on boosting digital education. The school offers training on site and online. 

The duly authorised institution offers degree programmes in Science and Technology, Management Sciences, and Agriculture. The school is currently carrying out admissions for the 2025/2026 school year.
