At Annual General Meeting: NDECA charts new course for community dev’t in Nsongwa.

The Nsongwa Development and Cultural Association, NDECA, has charted a new course for community development in Nsongwa located in Bamenda II Subdivision, Mezam Division of the North West Region.

This was recently during the Annual General Meeting, AGM, of NDECA, which took place at the Azap Multi-purpose Hall Mile 90. 



It was in the presence of the traditional ruler of Nsongwa, HRM Fon Fo'ngwadezah III, and gave the association the opportunity to reflect on the past year and chart a course for the future.

The AGM was held in Nsongwa after a very long time as a result of the socio-political crisis currently rocking the North West and South West Regions. It brought together sons and daughters from far and wide, to map out strategies for 2026, especially as it will mark the 25th Anniversary of their Fon on the throne.

The event, attended by the association leaders and members, saw the presentation of New Executive members amidst a renewed commitment to community development. 

It provided a platform for stakeholders to assess progress made in various sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Participants engaged in discussions on ways to enhance community engagement and support for Nsongwa's growth.

NDECA, dedicated to promoting Nsongwa's cultural heritage and socio-economic development, continues to play a vital role in mobilising community resources and initiatives. 

The Executive Committee is expected to build on past successes and drive initiatives forward.

Welcoming all the at the AGM the National President, Cho Daniel Awah, thanked them for coming, especially as they were meeting in their beloved star Community Hall after a very long time.

He added that he was honoured to celebrate their heritage with all and sundry of Nsongwa (Mbêsoh). Awah urged them to look at their progress, shared ideas and chart a path forward for a thriving village.

He called on all Mbêsoh to review their achievements, tackle challenges and explore opportunities for growth. "Let's build a strong and united front," he added.

Appreciates elite for all sacrifices

To the elite, Cho Daniel Awah appreciated them for all the sacrifices they have and are still making for the development of the village. He prayed that more sources of intelligence, integrity and financial bone should be multiplied in the name of their ancestors and above all in the mighty name of God.

He enjoined those back home to always make their physical presence felt at quarter and branch meetings, and above all during their annual end-of-year come-together.

Meanwhile, Awah rendered immerse thanks to the women of Nsongwa (Takehmbeng Mbesoh), noting that their strength, love and resilience are the backbone of their community development.

To the youth he said: “You all are wonderful, created with great intelligence and physical fitness, as the spirit that will inject development, happiness, love and unity in the village”. 

Awah told the youths that where there’s unity there’s love and with love they can build without limitations. 

“By so doing we support each other to grow both vertically and horizontally, working toward a shared development at the expense of development,” he stated.

The NDECA National President said when all the ‘Mbêsoh’ are united, development will follow, especially in human resources and investment.

Fon Fo'ngwadezah III, on his part, was so elated and proud to welcome all his subjects back home from all nooks and crannies. He challenged all the ‘Mbêsoh’ to be together like a bundle of broom so that nothing can ever tear them apart.

Sporting activities, traditional dances, rites at the palace and prize award ended the come-together for 2025 with the next rendezvous taken for 2026 which will characterise their Fon’s 25th Anniversary on the throne.
