National Interpools: Elecsport Limbe begins race with crucial win.

Playmaker, Kingsley Ashu, opened the scoring over the East Region representatives at the 32nd minute before fellow star, Verine Massango added the second goal 11 minutes later.

Following the victory at the CAF Centre of Excellence in Mbankomo in the outskirt of Yaounde, the Fako Division team climbed to the top position in Group B with three points.

The team was opened the floodgates to the top seat of the standing after the two other day one matches that were played in the group ended in stalemate. 

Littoral regional league champions, Hemle Football Club of Botko and struggling giants, Union Sportive of Douala are ranked second and third respectively on the standing after they played out a 1-1 draw in the opening Group B.

The representatives of the South Region, Epervier of Ebolowa, and the flagbearers of the North Region, Mintack Football Club of Septentrion, settled for the same score in the last game of the opening round of matches in the pool.

Following the results, Epervier and Mintack are respectively ranked fourth and fifth while Kafack sits rock-bottom sixth on the standing. 

Elecsport is expected to return to action in the competition this Tuesday to clash with Mintack FC of Septentrion in its second.

Union of Douala will entertain Epervier while Hemle Football Club challenges Kafack Sports Academy in the other matchday two fixtures in the pool.

Bafmeng shares spoils 

The two representatives of the North West Region, Bafmeng United and Mankon United began their campaign in the tournament yesterday with a 2-2 draw after scoring late during their head-to-head showdown at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre in the outskirt of Yaounde.

Mankon United’s Browdon Kuissi Fossi who scored a brace last week to help the Mezam Division team to qualify for the eighth finals of the ongoing Cup of Cameroon campaign, opened the scoring at the 31st minute.

Acha Aristie got the second goal for the North West regional league champions at the 75th minute from the penalty spot. 

Bafmeng United however walked their way back into the match after conceding the two goals. 

Ebua Dieudonne initially levelled the scores at the 39th minute for the Menchum Division team which is battling to retain its Elite Two status following a turbulent run in the competition during the recent 2025/2026 season,

Joseph Loic Olinga later secured the ultimate equalizer at the 85th minute.

Mankon United will challenge Far North Region team, AS Sokoto of Kousseri in its second match. 

Bafmeng United will face the representative of the Centre Region, Mintack Football Club of Upper Sanaga. 

Twelve teams spread across two pools of six teams are competing in the 2026 National Interpools tournament.

The top-two teams in each of the pools at the end of group phase will qualify for the semifinals.

The winner of the two winners will secure qualification tickets to the Elite Two championship for the 2026/2027 season.
