Minister signs three partnership deals to strengthen healthcare delivery.

Officials determined to expand medical healthcare

Government has through the Ministry of Public Health signed three partnership agreements aimed at strengthening the national health system and expanding access to quality medical services in the country.

The agreements were signed on Friday, July 17, in Yaounde.

Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda, and representatives of three national partner organisations signed the deals.

The initiative, health officials said, seeks to boost government’s determination to mobilise local stakeholders around key health priorities and accelerate progress toward better healthcare outcomes for the population.

The first agreement was concluded with the Lions Club Foundation and focuses on improving the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases, particularly diabetes and high blood pressure.

Health officials consider the conditions among the growing public health challenges facing the country.

A second agreement was signed with the Centre for Research and Integrated Health Systems Strengthening Foundation.

Through the partnership, efforts will be directed toward enhancing medical biology services, improving the transportation of biological samples, strengthening biomedical waste management and facilitating the distribution of essential medical consumables across health facilities.

The third accord, established with Daddy’s Foundation, seeks to improve access to healthcare services for vulnerable and underserved populations.

The initiative, officials said is expected to aligned with the government’s commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage and ensuring that no citizen is left behind in accessing essential healthcare services.

During the ceremony, representatives of the partner organisations expressed gratitude to the government and the Ministry of Public Health for the confidence placed in them.

They pledged to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, professionalism, and a strong sense of service to communities.

In his address, Dr Manaouda Malachie commended the partners for their commitment and willingness to support national health priorities.

He stressed that the agreements represent the beginning of a collective effort whose success will depend on effective implementation and measurable results.

The partnerships, the minister said, are expected to contribute significantly to strengthening healthcare provision and improving the well-being of populations across the country.
