EU Ambassador reaffirms support for women’s empowerment.

The meeting focused on SHEvolution, an artistic project that uses music as a platform to promote women’s leadership, gender equality, and the fight against violence against women. 

Through the initiative, Mimie seeks to inspire social change, while amplifying conversations around the empowerment of women and girls.

The audience also provided an opportunity for Ambassador Châtaigner to express his appreciation to the artiste for her outstanding performance during Europe Day 2026, noting that her contribution played a significant role in the success of the celebration, which highlighted unity, youth, and creativity. 

During the meeting, Mimie presented the Ambassador with an official invitation to her 100% live concert, which took place on July 25, at the Yaounde Conference Centre. 

Ambassador Châtaigner commended the important role artists play in shaping society and driving positive social transformation. 

He emphasised that creative voices such as Mimie’s are instrumental in raising awareness and encouraging actions on issues affecting women and young people.

The European Union Ambassador also reaffirmed the EU’s continued support for initiatives promoting women’s rights, gender equality, female leadership, youth inclusion, and the growth of Cameroon’s cultural and creative industries. 

He applauded Mimie’s continued commitment to using music as a tool for advocacy, empowerment, and lasting social impact.
