Nestlé spices up Cameroonian cuisine with new MAGGI powdered seasonings.

Nestlé officials speaking at presser

Nestlé Cameroon has expanded its MAGGI portfolio with the launch of a new range of 8g powdered seasonings. It is designed to give Cameroonian consumers greater choice, convenience and flexibility in preparing everyday meals.

The new MAGGI Powder range was officially unveiled on August 27, 2026, at the company's Douala.

According to the company officials, the innovation responds to changing cooking habits and the diverse seasoning needs of Cameroonian households.

Unlike conventional seasoning cubes, the powdered format, they disclosed, allows consumers to adjust the quantity used according to their recipes and taste preferences.

The new range comes in three variants; that is MAGGI Cube Seasoning Powder 8g, MAGGI Spice Flavour 8g, and MAGGI Chili and Garlic Flavour 8g.

MAGGI Cube Seasoning Powder is designed for everyday dishes including tomato sauce, groundnut sauce and Poulet DG. Its recipe combines notes of onion, beef, pepper and chilli and contains iodised salt.

The MAGGI Spice Flavour 8g, features distinctive notes of clove, chilli, long pepper, pèbè, black pepper and garlic, making it suitable for grilled and stir-fried dishes.

The third variant, MAGGI Chili & Garlic Flavour 8g, combines chilli and garlic and is positioned for marinades, sauces, soups and other flavourful preparations.

The Managing Director of Nestlé Cameroon, Aboubacar Coulibaly, said the new product forms part of the company’s broader commitment to innovation and responding to consumer needs.

He said Nestlé’s ambition is not simply to introduce new products, but to create value by combining the expertise of its workforce in Cameroon with the company’s international know-how.

Coulibaly further stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and food safety, while developing products adapted to local consumption patterns.

“With MAGGI Powder, we continue to invest in locally manufactured products that meet Nestlé’s quality standards while responding to the needs and expectations of Cameroonian consumers,” he said.

Made in Cameroon

Speaking at the presser, Culinary Category Manager for Central Africa, Arouna Koara, said the new products are manufactured at Nestlé’s Douala factory in line with applicable quality and food safety requirements.

The local production component, according to him, reflects its commitment to developing products adapted to the expectations of Cameroonian consumers, while making use of local manufacturing capabilities.

“For more than 40 years, MAGGI has grown alongside the evolution of Cameroonian cuisine,” Arouna Koara said

He further explained that the brand’s continued development is based on understanding changing culinary habits, preferences and emerging consumer needs.

“With MAGGI Powder, we are expanding our portfolio to offer greater choice, convenience and flexibility in the kitchen, while remaining true to the flavours and recipes cherished in Cameroon,” Koara said.

Quality and safety prioritised

Factory Manager, Adedayo Odufuwa, used the occasion to highlight the company’s emphasis on quality, food safety and workplace safety.

Odufuwa noted that the factory has systems in place to ensure that products undergo the necessary checks before reaching consumers.

Adedayo also took participants through some of the safety and quality measures implemented at the facility, including staff training, product testing, supplier engagement and environmental management.

According to him, ensuring that consumers receive safe and quality products remains one of the factory’s major priorities.

The factory, he said, has continued to strengthen its operations and production capacity while maintaining safety standards across the manufacturing process.

Affordable seasoning option

It should be noted that the three MAGGI Powder variants are available through traditional retail outlets across Cameroon.

The recommended retail price is 100 FCFA for a pack of three sachets, making the new format accessible to consumers seeking flexibility in seasoning their meals.

As a guide, the company recommends one sachet for a meal serving three people, while encouraging consumers to follow the dosage instructions indicated on the packaging.

The launch event also gave journalists and consumer representatives an opportunity to visit the Nestlé Douala factory, learn about the production process and interact with the company’s technical teams on issues relating to product quality and food safety.
