Cameroonian companies invited to participate in Cairo economic forum.

This was during an audience granted him by the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella. 

The audience was part of a two-day working visit to Cameroon by the North Africans. The delegation was made up of officials from the health and infrastructure sectors from Egypt looking to discuss collaboration with government.

Other members of the delegation included representatives of Egyptian construction group, Arab Contractors. Officials said it was necessary for both countries to create new business partnerships and identify investment and financing opportunities across several sectors. 

Discussions during the meeting aimed at identifying projects and business opportunities in several areas of the country’s economy, with the Egyptian delegation also revealing their potentials.

The Foreign Affairs Minister said the two countries discussed stronger training and skills-transfer programs, as well as cooperation in health systems and infrastructure. 

The October forum, he said, is expected to support efforts and also provide a platform for direct cooperation between companies from both countries. The forum will also lead to the signing of agreements between businesses and governments. 

Officials stated that the forum will provide Camerooonian companies an opportunity to find new partners, explore the Egyptian market and identify potential investment or financing opportunities in sectors targeted by the two countries. 

Meanwhile, in another audience granted the delegation by the Interim Minister of Tourism, Gabriel Mbairobe, the delegation proposed four areas of collaboration including construction of accommodation infrastructure, creation of leisure centers, training of hotel staff and exchange of experiences in management and cultural tourism. 

Speaking during the audience, Minister Gabriel Mbairobe welcomed the Egyptian offer, saying it enhances the country’s image as a tourist destination.

The minister has pledged to continue discussions on the mutually beneficial points, in line with the strengthening of South-South cooperation between Yaounde and Cairo. 

The Egyptian delegation revealed they are also set to meet the Ministers of Transport, Agriculture, and Small and Medium-Sized enterprises to examine projects in the various sectors.
