Fresh hope for effective schooling in NW, SW.

After seven years of fruitless school boycott calls, some frontline separatist warlords have started shifting their extremist stance on schooling in the crisis-hit North West and South West Regions.

They are now crusading effective schooling in the two English-speaking Regions.

The move, according to analysts, is a desperate attempt to save face from the population they have claimed to be protecting, yet terrorising and ruining the future of their children since 2016, when the crisis broke out.

The hard stance of the separatists on education in the two English-speaking Regions, has over the years received scathing criticisms from the national and international community.

Stopping children from getting access to education, has over the years greatly contributed to the waning support the secessionist agenda has received.

The fresh crusade for effective resumption of classes across all communities in the two English-speaking Regions, is that of separatist kingpin and erstwhile Spokesman of the Ambazonia Governing Council, AGovC, Emmanuel Ndong, popularly known as Capo Daniel.

Private, mission schools ‘authorise’ to function

Capo Daniel, in a 4-minute, 52 seconds video, which has gone viral on several social media platforms, re-echoed the importance of education.

Underscoring the importance of the livelihood and future of the population they claim to be fighting for, Capo said education is a vital human right that must be respected and should never be tempered with.

“Monday September 4 is the day schools traditionally resume in our country...,” Capo Daniel reminded parents in the two Regions.

He categorically told separatist apologists, both at home and abroad that: “Education is fundamental to the livelihood and the future of our people and our ability to build a nation tomorrow, whether free or not free”.

“This coming Monday (today), all parents should send their children to school. We have authorised all private and mission schools in our territory to open their doors,” he reiterated.

He warned that school proprietors and staff who violate their basic guidelines to open their doors to learners in the North West and South West Regions “…will lose the status of community school,” and that such establishments will be shut down.

Urges parents to shun fear

The Hong Kong-based Capo Daniel, who is former Deputy Defense Chief of Ambazonia Defence Forces, urged all and sundry in the two restive Regions to shun fear and send their children to schools across the North West and South West Regions.

Nobody should be afraid and nobody should worry. Let us all champion the crusade for effective schooling this academic year throughout the North West and South West Regions. All Ambazonian armed groups are in agreement with the decision to allow for effective schooling in the two Anglophone Regions,” he stated.

Call for lockdown useless, fruitless

Worth noting is the fact that a faction of separatist groups have been calling for a two-week lockdown in the two crisis-hit English-speaking Regions; as has been the case in the past years to frustrate effective start of classes.

Reacting to the calls for a two-week lockdown across the North West and South West Regions, as schools resume today, Capo Daniel said: “Anybody who has called for a two-week lockdown has not been reasonable and has not justified why we are going to close our schools”.

He said repeated lockdowns tantamount to suffering the population they claim to be fighting for and ruining their businesses “without any significant addition to the liberation struggle”.

“The time of stupidity is over. The time for partisanship is over. This coming Monday (today), all schools in Ambazonia will open their doors to learners…all parents, send your children to school. Let them go in assorted dresses. No school uniform in solidarity with Pa Tassang Wilfred who is in jail,” Capo Daniel said, adding the time for “people who play around with the future of our people for political posturing is over”.

He appealed to all separatist fighters to collectively demonstrate that they know what they we are fighting for.

“To all the Ambazonia fighters who are in the bush, on your behalf, we must resist Cameroon until a suitable, acceptable, and just solution is found to our problem that can safeguard and protect and let our identity thrive as English-speaking people,” he urged.

He further declared that: “Nobody recruited you to stand up for your rights, to say enough is enough of the discrimination, marginalisation, and undermining of our future and our identity by Paul Biya and his regime…it is time for you to demonstrate that you are fighting for yourself and the future of your children”.

Fighting in a reasonable manner, Capo Daniel insisted, remains key to holding government to account to address the root causes of the crisis in the North West and South West Regions of the country.

“Stand with me, stand with our children, stand with our political prisoners.,” he appealed.

To recall that the call for effective schooling in the two crisis-hit Anglophone Regions comes one week after  religious leaders called for  the respect of children’s right to education.
