Douala: Orange Cameroun opens two new agencies to boost proximity.

Officials cutting ribbon to inaugurate centres

Telecommunications giant, Orange Cameroun, has reinforced its footprint in the economic capital, Douala, with the inauguration of two new agencies in Ndokoti and Atrium Bonanjo, in the Douala I and III municipalities, respectively.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony which marks the launch of operations at the sites, took place on Wednesday, March 25. It was attended by Orange Cameroun's top management, administrative, municipal and traditional authorities of both municipalities.

Ndokoti agency bringing services closer to people

The Director General of Orange Cameroun, Dr Patrice Benon, said the newly opened Ndokoti agency, located in one of Douala’s busiest commercial and transport hubs, is designed to enhance accessibility for residents of Douala III and surrounding areas.

He highlighted that the choice of Ndokoti was strategic, given its status as a major crossroads linking several neighbourhoods and hosting a vibrant industrial zone.

“This is not just a point of sale, but a concrete expression of our commitment to proximity,” Dr Benon noted, emphasising that the agency brings services closer to households, traders, and industrial players.

The modern facility, built on approximately 340 square meters, and spread over two levels, is staffed by 17 trained bilingual young Cameroonians and has the capacity to serve over 6,000 customers monthly.

Customers, it was said, can access a wide range of services including mobile and internet connectivity, SIM replacement, Orange Money transactions, customer support, and innovative solutions such as Orange Energy kits aimed at mitigating power challenges.

Special attention has also been given to customer experience, with priority services for vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, mothers with infants, and persons with reduced mobility.

Residents have welcomed the initiative, noting that it reduces the need to travel long distances for telecom services while improving service delivery at the community level.

Atrium Bonanjo first dedicated Orange Business hub

Moving to next site at the Atrium Bonanjo in Douala I, Orange Cameroun unveiled its first-ever agency exclusively dedicated to businesses under the Orange Business brand.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Director General, Dr Patrick Benon, said the move reflects the company’s strong commitment to supporting enterprises in an increasingly digital and competitive environment.

The new hub, he said, targets SMEs, startups, and large corporations, offering tailored solutions such as secure connectivity, business fleet management, digital tools, financial services via Orange Money, and advisory support.

“This agency represents a new milestone. For the first time, we have a space entirely dedicated to enterprises, enabling us to better understand their needs and support their growth,” he stated.

Dr Benon described the choice of Bonanjo, Douala’s administrative and business centre, as deliberate, given its concentration of major companies and proximity to key infrastructure like the port of Douala

Local administrative authorities and municipal representatives present at the ceremonies praised Orange Cameroon for its continued investment in infrastructure and digital transformation.

They noted that besides improving telecom access, the new agencies will contribute to local economic development, job creation, and enhanced competitiveness for businesses in areas inhabited by over 400,000 persons.

Strengthening a nationwide network

With over 25 years of presence in Cameroon, Orange Cameroun prides itself for continued strides in expanding its distribution network, which now includes dozens of agencies, franchised stores, and tens of thousands of sales points nationwide.

The addition of the Ndokoti and Atrium Bonanjo agencies further consolidates Douala as the company’s largest commercial stronghold in the country.

Officials said the inaugural ceremonies have placed the company not only as a telecom operator but as a trusted digital partner committed to fostering inclusion, innovation, and sustainable economic growth.
