Mbam & Inoubou: Minister inaugurates FEICOM-built housing estate, town hall.

Sumptuous Kiiki Municipal Town Hall, giving the community a face lift

The Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development, Georges Elanga Obam, has inaugurated two projects executed by the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance, FEICOM, in the Mbam and Inoubou Division of the Centre Region.

The structures were inaugurated Wednesday, April 22.

In Nitoukou, the minister inaugurated some 18 housing units, constructed under a tripartite agreement entered by FEICOM with the Credit Foncier du Cameroun, and the United Councils and Cities of Cameroon, UCCC.

Meanwhile, in the municipality of Kiiki, the minister inaugurated a sumptuous Town Hall.

While delivering his inaugural speech at Nitoukou, the Director General of FEICOM, Philippe Camille Akoa, told the population that the housing units were meant to mitigate the acute accommodation problems that workers posted in that locality are faced with.

The FEICOM DG explained that initiative was also in line with international and national aspirations to continue improving the housing standards of the population, as enshrined in the UN Sustainable Development Goal, SSDG number 11 and the National Development Strategy, SND 30.

For the Kiiki Municipal Town Hall, the FEICOM boss said it has come to alleviate the working conditions of staff, who will henceforth be working in a serene, tidy and comfortable environment.

The minister said both projects are in line with the vision of the Head of State to make the decentralisation process in all communities nationwide.
