Globally-revered Cameroonian development strategist, peace crusader and social entrepreneur, Rev Celestine Meh Chu, has been honoured with the Iconic Transformational Apostle of Faith award.

The distinction is for his exemplary contribution to nation-building, humanitarian services and community advancement across Cameroon and beyond.

The acclaimed researcher and ordained pastor was handed the distinction in Yaounde Tuesday, June 30. The award is from Grass to Grace, G2G, Humanitarian Organisation and the United Nations, UN-CISRI, a permanent observatory mission of the United Nations.

His Royal Majesty Chief Thomas A. Fotang, Goodwill Ambassador of the UN-CISRI Cameroon, presented him the distinction.

Chief Fotang said the distinction handed under the G2G Courageous Men Prize scheme was in recognition of the outstanding contributions that Rev Meh Chu has made over the last more than two decades through the designing and delivery of transformative programmes at the crossroads of faith, governance and sustainable development across Africa.

He said the organisation was using the award as a unique platform to honour a life of purpose, integrity and leadership that has indiscriminately benefitted the needy and transformed lives within the borders of Cameroon and far beyond.

The UN-CISRI Cameroon Goodwill Ambassador cited the strides that the laureate has made in the areas of education where he has founded five schools, providing education for over 1,500 pupils notably through scholarships offered to learners within the institutions, and creating jobs for over 100 Cameroonians.

He also referenced the efforts that Rev Meh Chu has made in the areas of faith, including his achievement of planting 13 churches across Cameroon, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, and in training pastors and multiplying church ministering capacity.

“Reverend Celestine Meh Chu is outstanding. He has taken our flag, the flag of this nation, beyond borders when it comes to nation-building. He is an exemplary Cameroonian in terms of giving back to the community. He is a multifaceted person,” he stated.

Fotang said the outstanding contributions left the beneficiary standing out as an ideal potential laureate of the award scheme, which was created close to a decade ago to honor exemplary individuals and institutions that have shown unquestionable compassion for humanity.

“Behind every transformed life is a sacrifice. Behind every church planted lies a battle. Behind every scholarship lies a generous heart. Behind every family restored lies a servant who choose compassion over comfort. That leadership is not about power. It is about responsibility. That greatness is not about being served, but about serving humanity. That is exactly why we created this unique recognition platform to honor those who demonstrate these characters,” Fotang said.

He said the man of God has mentored, trained, and sponsored numerous pastors who are today transforming lives across Africa and continues to extend compassion to widows, orphans, internally displaced persons, and countless underprivileged families,” he added.

Rev Meh Chu said the award is a source of motivation to double efforts and continue breaking more grounds in the mission of transforming lives through multiple well-tailored activities.

“You have shaken my life and realigned me with God’s purpose, and I go from here with an understanding that every second, every franc that God has put in our hands, every modicum of wisdom that we've received, is got to go for the cause of humanity,” Rev Meh Chu said.
