Personality of The Week: Edison Fru Ndi, Dreamland Holdings PLC CEO.

One of the major disappointments across Cameroon is that of key projects that are always flamboyantly launched, but never always seeing the light of the day.

It is a bug within government circles, village development associations and other social groupings. Cameroonians have stories in abundance of just how they were deceived into merrying and ululation over projects, many of which stalled from the very moment they were launched.

Thus, society is laced with people making progress at individual levels, sometimes being the fruit of greed while entire communities suffer!

It is a bane that has made many who ought to be heroes, movers and shakers at home rather a thorn in the flesh of their people. The reality thus makes people who dispense excellence at home and elsewhere, some strange beings powered by extraordinary power.

Such, are the human beings giving their generation hope for a better tomorrow, irrespective of how things seem to be bad.

Across Cameroon, when such happen in security challenging communities, such as the North West and South West Regions, those who stand at the fore always get endless celebrations; because people with might to operate at such high level long gave up.

Similarly, talk about the Bamenda III Industrial Zone, until recently, appeared like one of several empty political promises that have echoed for decades.

Yet, one man who has given it extra meaning is the revered development dynamite and philanthropist, Edison Fru Ndi, who is the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Dreamland Connect.

When his firm won the bidding for the ultramodern Mutan Market project, the stories of failed projects elsewhere were re-echoed. This was not out of hatred or jealousy. Such were anchored on how similar initiatives have crashed in the past.

Yet, those who know the trajectory of Edison Fru Ndi, said they had no fear he was headed for something that could tarnish his reputation and integrity, built across the years.

This week, Edison Fru Ndi, is glittering at levels never seen, for having completed and delivered the 410 million FCFA Mutan Market project on record time.

Given the rare feat, the royal fathers of the North West Region, couldn’t hide their joy. They came in their numbers to venerate Edison Fru Ndi, a celebrated and award-winning community mobiliser and nation-builder.

Emerging from that ceremony with the decoration of Tantoh, meaning “Assistant to the Fondom,” Edison Fru Ndi was rated at yet another level.

The golden lacing for Edison Fru Ndi, who talks less and does more, is coming with the weight of the audience The Guardian Post enjoys in the Economic Community of Central African States, ECCAS.
