Kumba II Mayor wins International Golden Star Award.

The distinction was conferred on him in recognition of his immeasurable and consistent impactful community service and projects which others use as a blueprint. 

The award organisers stated that Chief Mbachu is “not just doing projects, but building people, systems, and trust...". 

The award ceremony was organised in Douala, Littoral Region, by The Watchdog Tribune Media Corporation for nation builders and impactful community leaders. The award ceremony was a special day dedicated in celebrating major contributors to the growth of the society.

According to the organisers, Chief Mbachu Jacob Kay received the award for his extraordinary and selfless leadership, volunteerism, and advocacy that have transformed lives and left a lasting legacy.

They stated: "We are gathering to honour visionaries and changemakers like you who dedicate their time to building a stronger, more inclusive future for everyone". 

The ceremony was to recognise the hard work and achievements of individuals and institutions who had distinguished themselves and made a difference. It was filled with inspiring stories, great food, and well-deserved celebrations.

Among the dignitaries who inspired the laureates was Sir Dr Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, who has a gallery of over 200 national and international awards. The award to the Mayor of Kumba II Council comes about a month after another one was conferred on him at a ceremony in Bafoussam, West Region.

This was at The Vanguard Media Group, VAMEG, International Icon Award. Chief Mbachu was awarded as the “2025 Most Development-Oriented Municipal Administrator". 

This, according to the award organisers, was recognition of his “outstanding transformational leadership, exemplary dedication to community development, and exceptional contributions to the building of a stronger nation”.

The mayor who doubles as Section President of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM, party for Meme IB Section, with headquarters in Fiango, Kumba II Subdivision, had previously received other awards in various categories.

Reacting to his latest distinction, the soft-spoken but development-focused municipal administrator said he will not relent efforts in improving the livelihoods of the population and the continuous development of Kumba II Municipality.

He called on the population to continue to give him and his team the necessary support to fully realise these objectives; nurtured since the year 2020 when he was elected into office under the CPDM party ticket.
