The Investment Promotion Agency, IPA, has launched a nationwide call for investment projects seeking funding and partnerships. The call comes ahead of the fifth Cameroon Investment Forum, CIF 2026, scheduled for November 18 to 20, at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

According to a press release from the agency, the initiative is open to promoters of large enterprises, project leaders and start-ups. Decentralised local authorities and public and private institutions can also apply. The statement adds that Cameroonians in the diaspora seeking funds for investment projects are equally eligible.

The IPA release stated that selected projects will be showcased through the CIF Investment Market. According to the document, this will connect promoters with banks, investment funds, development finance institutions and private equity firms. Private investors, multilateral organisations and national and international technical partners are also expected.

It emerged from the release that the forum will equally feature Deal Rooms, which are confidential spaces for business-to-business meetings between project promoters and potential investors.

The agency’s document said promoters will be able to present their projects, explain their business models and discuss financing arrangements. This, the document added, will provide opportunities for strategic partnerships.

Application requirements

According to the IPA’s call, companies applying must have at least five years of operating experience. The document stipulates that promoters with mature and well-structured projects requiring financing can also apply, as well as public and private organisations leading projects with significant economic or social impact are equally eligible.

The release further explains that applicants must submit an executive summary and a business plan covering at least three years. Financial statements for 2023, 2024 and 2025 are also required.

According to the statement, applicants must equally provide details of their financing needs, proposed financing structure and expected profitability.

The IPA said particular consideration will be given to innovative projects and those capable of creating jobs. Projects promoting local value addition and domestic processing of resources will also receive attention. The same applies to projects aligned with priority economic sectors.

It is worth mentioning that the call comes as the country is implementing a new investment incentives framework. The framework seeks to facilitate, promote and attract productive investment while increasing national production and employment.

The IPA has also reiterated its readiness to accompany investors after investment agreements are concluded. Speaking recently, IPA Interim General Manager, Boma Donatus, urged investors to return to the agency when they encounter difficulties implementing their agreements.

“If you encounter any problem with the implementation of your investment agreement, come back to us. We remain at your disposal whenever you face difficulties concerning the implementation of your agreement,” Boma said. He also invited investors to participate in CIF 2026.
