Mercy Fosoh receiving award during Douala event

The Guardian Post Economic Desk Editor, Mercy Fosoh Ngum, has been distinguished as the best print media journalist in Cameroon for 2026. The honour is from the Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers Association, CENPA.

Fosoh was awarded during the third CENPA Award Night in Douala, Littoral Region.

That was on Saturday September 19. She was the unique face among several other personalities from across the country and the Diaspora who were elevated to the podium of honour for their exceptional exploits in different walks of life.

The award jury stated that Fosoh hit the mark of Best Print Media Journalist “for demonstrating rare mastery in news gathering and unique reporting skills”.

The award-winning journalist told reporters that the “recognition is the result of commitment, hard work and the opportunities I have received to grow professionally. I am truly humbled to receive this distinction”.

She thanked CENPA for the recognition, noting that “…it is particularly encouraging and gives me motivation to continue developing professionally”.

Fosoh thanked the Publisher/Editor-In-Chief of The Guardian Post, Kristian Ngah Christian, “for giving me the opportunity to begin my professional journalism career at his media enterprise and for trusting me with different professional tasks and responsibilities”.

She told The Guardian Post that every task that has been assigned to her since joining the media house has strengthened her professional muscles.

The Desk Editor also thanked colleagues at The Guardian Post for supporting and encouraging her every step of the way.

Fosoh also credited the recognition to her family for constantly supporting her “especially during challenging and difficult moments”.
