Dr Chief Joseph Dion Ngute addressing population during campaign rally Tuesday

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Dr Chief Joseph Dion Ngute, has rallied the population of Fako Division, in the South West Region, to give President Paul Biya a resounding victory, come Sunday October 12.

This was during a campaign rally at the Limbe Centenary Stadium, Tuesday October 7.

The rally brought together government ministers, parliamentarians, mayors, ruling party officials, traditional rulers, and CPDM supporters.

Speaking at the rally, PM Dion Ngute saluted CPDM supporters for their loyalty to the ideals of the CPDM and the leadership of the Head of State, Paul Biya. He conveyed warm greetings from President Biya and thanked the population for remaining loyal, particularly during the years of crisis.

“You did not support the crisis, and that is why Fako today remains the safest Division in the North West and South West Regions. You opened your doors to thousands who came here seeking refuge, and for that, the President is grateful,” the Prime Minister stated.

In the domain of infrastructural development, the Prime Minister said construction works on the Bekoko-Idenau and Buea-Limbe Road projects would commence before the end of the year.

He disclosed at the campaign rally that a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, has already been signed for the execution of the projects.

He further disclosed that the Limbe Deep Seaport was no longer just a plan but a “reality in progress”, adding that feasibility and implementation stages are already advancing.

In the area of health, Dion Ngute said the Buea Regional Referral Hospital project which is just 20% complete would be executed to the end.

“The President has kept his word to the people of Fako and the South West. Now is not the time to embrace new political adventures. It is time to harvest what we have sown,” Dion Ngute declared.

The Head of the CPDM in Fako Division, Prof Nalova Lyonga praised the resilience, loyalty, and turnout of the population despite the heavy downpour.

She described the population of Fako as being “a people of truth, courage, and conviction”, who have always stood by Biya and the CPDM.

Minister Nalova encouraged supporters of the CPDM party to reject opposition narratives. She emphasized that continuity is the surest way to maintain peace, development, and opportunities for the people of Fako Division and the entire South West Region.

Addressing the population, Senator Mbella Moki warned people not to “…follow detractors in the name of candidates”, stressing that the “…are out to deceive Cameroonians for their selfish interests”

He reminded the population that President Biya’s leadership has consistently rewarded Fako Division with major infrastructural projects and key appointments of its sons and daughters to high offices.

Mbella Moki declared that: “Paul Biya is running on rewards, not promises, and it would be a great mistake to jeopardize these opportunities by voting for the unknown”.
